The University of the Philippine Visayas entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Interior and Local Government for “SUC-Assisted Approach in the formulation of the Comprehensive Development Plan.” A formal agreement signing was held on March 23, 2018 at the UPV Graduate and Continuing Education Training Rooms, Iloilo City campus.
Regional Director of DILG VI Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda and UPV Chancellor Dr. Ricardo P. Babaran were the signatories of the agreement.
It was a three-way win for the 4th year BS Biology students of UP Visayas who participated in the BIOTA Regional Student Research Competition held on March 10, 2018 at Central Philippine University, Iloilo City.
The first win was as best paper for Alain Jeff Nonod and Kingsley John Delos Santos’ paper presentation entitled, "Species Diversity, Above and Below Ground Biomass, and Carbon Stock Assessments of Mangrove Forests in Tandog Island, Taklong Island National Marine Reserve, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras." They both also competed for the oral presentation competition.
The College of Management held the 2018 Research Forum on 22 February 2018 at the UPV Graduate & Continuing Education Building, Iloilo City campus with the theme “From Ideas to Action: Quality Research for Public Service.”
The forum which featured paper and poster presentations from faculty and students was one of the highlights of the CM Day celebration, and was part of the weeklong activities commemorating the 71st anniversary of UP Presence in Iloilo.
The University Library of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) spearheaded the renewal of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) of the Library Consortium of the nine (9) Universities in Iloilo City.
