The UPV University Library has continually received donations of books and furniture since 2018 from the Rojo family. To date, a total of thirty four thousand sixty seven dollars and fourteen centavos USD ($34,067.14) or (Php1,701,366.18) was received by the University Library. The donation was facilitated by University Librarian, Ms. Analiza G. Linaugo.
Dr. Resurreccion Sadaba, the recognized expert on oil spill management conducted the orientation for the Iloilo Team on July 29, 2020 at Pyt Stop Restaurant, Lapaz, Iloilo City. This activity necessary in evaluating the clean-up operations currently being done by Ayala Corporation Energy Philippines Inc. (ACEPh) in areas affected by the oil spill in Iloilo City, Iloilo Province and Guimaras.

Ugnayan ng Pahinungod facilitated the donation of 30 units of prepaid WiFi modems to the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Iloilo on July 29, 2020 at the DepEd division office in La Paz, Iloilo City. Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Director, Prof. Ruben M. Gamala officially turned over the devices to Dr. Roel F. Bermejo, and Division IPEd Focal Person, Dr. Jesus C. Insilada, together with other key division personnel.
Prof. Mary Ann T. Gumban, Vice Chancellor for Administration of UP Visayas was the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Joint Closing Ceremony of the Candidate Soldier Course of the 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division of the Philippine Army. The event was held at Camp Gen. Macario Peralta, Jr. Jamindan, Capiz on July 28, 2020.
UP Visayas is on board in the management of the oil spill crisis that has recently struck the Iloilo City and province as well as the province of Guimaras after a power barge operated by the energy arm of Filipino multinational company, Ayala Corporation, spilled nearly 270,000 litres of bunker fuel off the coast of Iloilo City on July 3, 2020.
Amidst this pandemic, it is heartwarming to hear stories that inspire and give hope. One that caught the attention of many is our UP High School in Iloilo incoming grade 10 student Louie Animas who sold cashew nuts in preparation for remote and blended learning come opening of classes.
