Two alumni of the University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) will be the speakers of the 2022 UPHSI Graduation Exercises and Moving Up and Recognition Program, respectively. 

Dr. Maria Cynthia Rose B. Bautista, University of the Philippines' Vice President for Academic Affairs, will address the graduates of UP Visayas in its first face-to-face Commencement Exercises after the pandemic. The 43rd Commencement Exercises will be held at the Oblation Plaza of the University of the Philippines Visayas, Iloilo City Campus, on July 21, 2022, at 4:30 in the afternoon.

The innovation project "Carbon Quantum Dots as Innovative Materials for Detection and Removal of Selected Aquatic Pollutants" by the University of the Philippines Visayas Chemistry students is a finalist in the BPI-DOST Innovation Awards 2022.

Preparations are underway for the forthcoming 43rd Commencement Exercises, UP Visayas’ first face-to-face commencement activities in the new normal, on July 21, 2022, Thursday, 4:00 PM, at the newly inaugurated Oblation Avenue, Iloilo City campus. 

The University of the Philippine Visayas formally opened the “Panapton Gallery” at the Iloilo City campus Main Building and Museum Complex on June 27, 2022. The gallery contains a collection of locally produced textiles. 

Prof. Encarnacion Emilia S. Yap, dean of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), UP Visayas (UPV), participated in the annual ASEAN Fisheries Education Network (ASEAN-FEN) meeting held at Nha Trang University, Nha Trang City, Vietnam on June 15-16, 2022.
