The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanology (IMFO) recently hosted the 2nd NARFleet Co-Management Workshop, held at the FC Conference Room, Umali Hall, from August 29-30, 2024. The event brought together collaborators and partners from the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (UP MSI), Bicol University, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), and UPV.

A symposium titled “Weaponization of Justice: Skirting the Line Between Human Rights and Compelling State Interest," featuring former Senator Atty. Leila de Lima as the guest speaker, was organized by the UPV SCINTILLA JVRIS Fraternity and the UP STELLA JURIS Sorority on August 28, 2024 at the Auditorium, UP Visayas, Iloilo City.

Today, the UP Visayas Sibika Hub 2.0 (Western Visayas) is taking place at Hotel del Rio, with students and teachers from Jaro National High School, Mandurriao National High School, La Paz National High School, Iloilo City National High School, Ramon Avanceña National High School, Fort San Pedro National High School, and Jalandoni National High School in attendance.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), through its Capacity Building, Policy Review, and Innovative Legislation Toward Coastline Protection and Development for a Sustainable Future or the Coastal Protection and Development (CPD) Program, held a national stakeholders’ dialogue to present and discuss the draft legislation on the Philippine Coastal Protection Act.
