The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) project team members for the research project titled “From Policy to Practice: Implementation Study of National Programs on Nutrition, Food Security, Education Literacy, and Employment in the Province of Antique, Philippines" attended an orientation meeting with the officers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region VI at the OICA Conference Room, UPV, Iloilo City Campus on February 8, 2024.
The orientation was given by the different DSWD project officers of various programs conducted by the agency, including the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Program (EPAHP), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), and KALAHI-CIDSS.
They were presented and discussed by Regional Program Coordinator Narlaine P. Gajisan, Program Development Livelihood II Officer Audrey Marie C. Caguyao, Institutional Partnership and Development Officer for LGU and Supply Site Assessment Manilyn I. Suyao, and Project Evaluation Officer Mark T. Catague, respectively. The meeting was also attended by the Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of 4Ps, Marlyn M. Provido.
The collaborative meeting is part of the preparation for the conduct of the study that will be implemented in the municipalities of Culasi, Barbaza, and Sibalom this year. The meeting was organized by Mr. Sashah Dioso, Co-Project Leader for the food security cluster of the program.
The project is an initiative of the Office of the Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda and Lone District Representative for Antique Antonio "AA" Legarda.
