In reference to Memo CCC 2022-05-038 dated 30 May 2022, issued by Chancellor Clement Camposano, UPV participated in the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on 09 June 2022.
It started with an FB livestream at 8:00 from the Office of the Civil Defense, wherein UPV employees were encouraged to watch. Upon the recommendation of the UP Resilience Institute, personnel at the administration building in the Miagao campus performed the earthquake drill exercises that included the activation of the Incident Command System, evacuation, search and rescue, and emergency medical response. Meanwhile, personnel situated in other buildings in the Miagao and Iloilo City campuses shall perform the same drill to be scheduled on a later date.
UPV’s participation in the NSED was documented, and a report was submitted to the UP Crisis Management Committee through the UP Resilience Institute. (With sources from OVCA)
