“Pa burger naman dyan.”
This is how the Gender and Development Program of UP Visayas marked the International Celebration of Women’s Day on March 8, 2023, dubbed as solidarity snack, consisting of burgers, coke, muffin, and candies distributed to the employees in both the Miagao and Iloilo City campuses simultaneously.
Employees happily lined up to get their burgers and were thankful for this gesture. This is just one of the events organized by GDP to honor women. On March 1, an Opening Ceremony was held online and a Women’s Day concert on March 3.
Events lined up for the rest of the month include a bazaar and pre-loved sale, cook-off, research colloquium, pampering day, entrepreneurship exhibit, and a closing ceremony on March 31.
