In celebration of its 49th anniversary and National Heroes' Day, the UP Hamilia Sisterhood, in cooperation with the UP Hamili Brotherhood, successfully organized a bloodletting event titled "Red Tag Day" on August 31, 2024, which ran from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event took place at the Graduate and Continuing Education Building (GCEB), UPV City Campus.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross – Iloilo Chapter and accommodated more than 60 blood donors from the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire, UP Hamili-Hamilia, UPV students, and other individuals from the community.
Volunteers from Iloilo Doctor’s College of Medicine Blue Angels and the UPV Ugnayan ng Pahinungod/ Oblation Corps assisted UP Hamili-Hamilia residents in the facilitation of the event.
The initiative was part of UP Hamilia’s long-standing commitment to social awareness and civic consciousness. The event aimed to gather blood donations to support the Philippine Red Cross and local hospitals in Iloilo, providing much-needed blood for those in critical need of transfusions.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the cause and helped make the event a success.
