Three projects assisted by CAS COP-BIDANI presented in National Public Service Conference

Three projects assisted by CAS COP-BIDANI were presented at the 4th Colleges, and Universities Public Service Conference (CUPSCon 4) held last October 21-22, 2021, via Zoom. The projects are ACTI(on) Research Project (Assistance, Collaboration, Training, and Other Interventions on [ACTIon] Research Project), the Municipal Health System Strengthening Program, and the TEACH DRR Project (Bridge Phase). 

The ACTI(on) Research Project, co-managed by CAS COP-BIDANI and the Division of Professional Education, was presented by Prof. Early Sol Gadong, Co-Manager of the Project.  The presentation, co-authored by UPV-CAS’ Mr. Prabhat Ranjan Ubas, Mx. John Bert Tutisura, Ms. Elna Mariel Nanta, and DepEd – Regional Office VI’s Dr. Leo Dedoroy, Mr. Rey Aguilar, and Ms. Eulah Acosta, was entitled “Lights… Camera… Action Research Colloquia!” 

The Municipal Health System Strengthening Program, managed by the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development and UP Visayas Foundation, Inc. through the Municipal Leadership and Governance Program led by Dr. Philip Ian Padilla, was presented by Mr. Joshua Ben-ray Alob of the DOH-WV-CHD Team. The co-authors are Prof. Josephine T. Firmase and Dr. Philip Ian P. Padilla of the CAS.

The TEACH DRR Project, managed by the UP Visayas Foundation, Inc., was presented by Prof. Josephine T. Firmase, the Project Leader. The presentation, co-authored by Prof. Jorge Ebay (DSS, CAS), Ms. Darlene Joy Calsado (CWVS, CAS), and Ms. Sami Clarisse Juanico (UPVFI), was entitled “Children and youth actions for pandemic preparedness through academe-community partnership.”

CUPSCon 4, a two-day on-line conference organized by the Padayon Public Service Office of the Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs (OVPAA) of the University of the Philippines, featured public service initiatives in the time of COVID-19. It highlighted the significant role of partnerships in the fight against COVID-19 and in empowering and building resilience amidst the pandemic. 

COP-BIDANI serves as a public service arm of the College of Arts and Sciences.
