Six UPV students qualify for the 2022 Ayala Young Leaders Congress

Six UP Visayas students qualified for the 2022 Ayala Young Leaders Congress (AYLC) after much vetting and a rigorous screening process.

The qualifiers include Gabe John Armosada (BS Accountancy), John Dyrick Dormis (BSBA Marketing), Rica Dana Ingeniero (BS Management), Charlotte Dexanne Managuit (BS Accountancy), Stewart E. Laging (BA Political Science), and Margaret Mary de Asis (BA Psychology).

The AYLC will bring together a carefully selected group of 80 most promising college and university student leaders from all over the Philippines to hone their leadership skills and potential, promote service as the value orientation of leadership, and instill a deep sense of idealism, societal responsibility, and nation-building.

Of the 460 online applications, 80 were selected after a rigorous screening, which included computer-generated curriculum vitae screening and panel interviews. The qualified students will participate in a 5-week leadership congress with synchronous learning experiences on five consecutive Saturdays and asynchronous learning experiences during selected days of the weeks in between.

The Congress features outstanding Filipino leaders who share their journeys and leadership perspectives with the participants. Interactive workshops and outdoor activities provide opportunities for participants to grow in self-awareness, achieve greater clarity about their passions and advocacies, gain a deeper understanding and insight into their leadership concerns and issues, and identify the application of their learning.

A post-congress program, managed by the AYLC Secretariat and the Ayala Young Leaders Alumni Association, Inc. (AYLAAI), will provide the alumni with learning and service opportunities. On their initiatives, networks of AYLC alumni will likewise collaborate on projects. (With sources from ayalayoungleader.org)
