The Division of Professional Education participated in the weeklong celebration of the College of Arts and Sciences by having its own Open House on February 20, 2023. The event was participated in by the faculty members of the Division and UP High School in Iloilo and its students.
The Open House was marked by exhibits featuring graduate program outputs of ProfEd students. The high school students also mounted exhibits for their respective academic organizations and featured some of their projects and best works. The organization members stood by their booths ready to explain their projects as visitors arrived. The UPHSI Student Council organized various fun activities, including a program which lasted throughout the afternoon.
Division of Professional Education Chair, Prof. Pepito R. Fernandez, Jr., and OIC High School Principal Anelyn Yabillo, opened the short program before the Open House with brief messages.
Retired faculty members and guests, some bringing special dishes and native delicacies, also graced the occasion. Food flowed abundantly as they brought food inspired by the color gold for Goldies, UPHSI’s academic color. Valenciana, palabok, sotanghon, bananas, lasagna, and chips were shared in the midst of a festive atmosphere.
Prof. Joel Labos and his team led in organizing various aspects of the special occasion.
