The iAmUPHi and UPAA Iloilo turned over an industrial washing machine, front load dryer, medical apparel, physical protective equipment, and various medical and sanitation supplies to the Philippine Genome Center Visayas (PGCV) on January 22, 2022. These were received by Chancellor Clement C. Camposano and PGC-Visayas Director Victor Marco Emmanuel "Noel" Ferriols. Dr. Marovi Celis BOT of iAmUPHi brought the goods along with the officers of the UPAA Iloilo Chapter, headed by President John Canonero.
The donations were sourced from various alumni groups and their organizations:
- The Pelegrino Family composed of Ma. Sony P. Teruel, Ma. Theresa P. Tesoro, Ma. Corazon P. Boitenin, Christine P. Durana, Malou Pelegrino Juan-Sing for the Front Load Dryer
- UP Bluechips90 (BSBA Batch 90) and Nig Marketing for the Industrial Washing Machine
- Pharmadoo Medical Group Inc., and Real Time Virtual Solutions (RTVS) cash donations

This was in response to the call of UPdanay Donation Drive to help PGC Visayas in its sustainable operation and for the safety of its staff as they go through their daily laboratory activities, especially their primary task of biosurveillance during this pandemic. PGCV is the laboratory tasked with sequencing to identify COVID-19 variants for Western Visayas and neighboring provinces.
PGC was responsible for assisting the establishment of COVID-19 testing centers and laboratories in the Visayas region during the onslaught of the pandemic. It has also done its role of equipping and strengthening its testing capacity and continuing the fight against the COVID-19 virus.
