Peñasales donates painting to UPV MACH

The University of the Philippines Visayas Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (UPV MACH) received another artwork donation. Architect and artist Oscar J. Peñasales turned over his untitled abstract acrylic painting to OICA Director Martin Genodepa recently following the signing of the Deed of Donation.

Peñasales is an alumnus of UP High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) and graduated from the University of San Agustin (USA) with a degree in Architecture. He is the principal architect of PEN Works Architecture and Interiors in Lapaz, Iloilo City.

Aside from being a licensed architect, Peñasales is also a visual artist. He has been a member of the Himbon Contemporary Ilonggo Artists Group. In 2011, he bagged the highly sought-after Grand Prize in the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) Competition in the architecture category.

The painting can now be viewed at the Taliambong Art Gallery of the UPV MACH.
