OVCPD conducts online orientation on the humane management of informal settlers

“The university intends to optimally use its resources but at the same time cognizant of its responsibilities on the management of informal settlers/occupants in a just and humane manner,” says Vice-Chancellor for Planning and Development, Rhodella Ibabao during the online orientation with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) on June 7, 2021.

This is in line with fulfilling the requirements of RA 11396 that all SUCs must formulate a Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP).

EnP. Eva Maria P. Marfil, Regional Coordinator of DHSUD, gave an orientation on “The Implementing Rules & Regulations to Ensure the Observance of Proper & Humane Relocation & Resettlement Procedures Mandated by the Urban Development & Housing Act of 1992.”

This was followed by the talk of Ms. Sheila Saplagio, PCUP Area Coordinator on “Pre-demolition Conference Local Housing Board: Clearing House Function for Demolition & Eviction Orientation on the Clearing House Function of Demolition & Eviction.”

The orientation was attended by the members of the UPV Committee for Land Consolidation and Titling of the UP Properties under UPV’s Jurisdiction, the UPV Planning Team for LUDIP, the UPV Legal Office, officials from UPV Tacloban College, and representatives from the LGU-Miagao.
