Fans of the UP Men’s Basketball Team were able to see live basketball game of the team versus the Iloilo Collegiate Selection. Maroons swept the two games with 74-65 at the Passi City Arena, Passi City on January 19 and 78-66 win on Sunday, January 20 at the San Agustin Gym.
The Fighting Maroons were led by ace players Ricci Rivero, Kobe Paras, Bright Akhuetie, Juan Gomez de Liaño, and Javier Gomez de Liaño. Completing the team were Jun Manzo, Jerson Prado, Janjan Jaboneta, James Spencer, David Murrell, Frederick Tungcab, Jose Longa, Will Gozum, and Noah Webb. A meet-and-greet session with fans was held at the UPV Auditorium on Saturday where coach Bo Perasol thanked the UPV community for the strong support during the Season ’81 of the UAAP.
The event at the UPV Iloilo City campus was organized by the UP Office of Alumni Relations, Information and Publications Office, and the UPAA-Iloilo Chapter.
