Engr. Kynn O. Lebrillo, a UPV School of Technology (SOTECH) alumnus, was among the young engineers/technologists who made it in the shortlist of finalists in the 2024 Magsaysay Future Engineers/Technologists Awards - Paper Presentation and Awarding Ceremony that was held last December 2, 2024 in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The Magsaysay Future Engineers/Technologists Awards is an award giving body that recognizes young Filipino students who have brought out exemplary research topics during their undergraduate studies that highlight science, engineering, and technology as a way of improving the hows of life, contributing in the continuous growth to a sustainable and innovative future.
Lebrillo graduated magna cum laude in his BS in Chemical Engineering program in 2024 and got his license in the said profession in the same year. His study tackles green adhesive reinforcement in engineered bamboo planks. The fruits of his studies were realized through the efforts of his adviser Engr. John Salvador Y. Ricacho and his panel members, Engr. Juniper V. Magallanes-Nava, and Dr. Ramer P. Bautista. This year, he is the flag bearer of the school in the said prestigious event and vies for the back-to-back title for SOTECH as previously, Engr. Joshua Antony G. Cruz, was hailed 1st Place in the 2023 edition. At the end of the event, he was awarded with a Special Citation.
SOTECH has embedded its presence in the Magsaysay Awards since 2019, sending different significant researches to the podium and it continuously vows to hone and create more reliable innovators for the service of the Filipino people.
