Diaz enhances public speaking skills of Iloilo City government employees

The Office of the City Human Resource Management Officer organized a comprehensive Public Speaking and Presentation Skills Workshop at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Iloilo City last August 9, 2024.

The event aimed to enhance the communication abilities of government employees, with participants coming from various departments of the Iloilo City government.

The workshop featured Prof. Alfredo B. Diaz, a faculty member of UP High School in Iloilo and a respected expert in language and communication. He served as the resource speaker of the event.

Diaz engaged the participants with an in-depth discussion on the characteristics of an effective presentation, and he emphasized the importance of clarity, structure, engagement, and the speaker's connection with the audience.

Participants had the opportunity to put their learning into practice by delivering speeches that adhered to the principles of effective public speaking. Following each presentation, Diaz facilitated a constructive evaluation session, offering personalized feedback and insights to help the participants refine their public speaking skills.

The workshop was well-received, with attendees expressing their appreciation for the practical knowledge and hands-on experience provided. This initiative by the Office of the City Human Resource Management Officer reflects its commitment to developing the professional competencies of Iloilo City government employees.
