Faculty members of the College of Management facilitated a training on “Enhancing Team Unity and Work Attitudes” for the employees of the Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Western Visayas.
The training forms part of the learning and development intervention program of the DOH-CHD Western Visayas aimed at building rapport and strengthening group cohesion among DOH-CHD Western Visayas personnel. A total of 145 participants underwent a 16-hour training designed to promote an increased appreciation of the value of healthy interpersonal relationships and effective communication strategies in achieving the goal of the Department. The training included a series of team building activities and lecture/discussions on moral values formation, employee appreciation, leadership, teamwork, and motivation.
The participants were composed of cluster heads and staff from the different offices/divisions, which include the (1) Regional Director/Assistant Regional Director Division (RD/ARD); (2) Management Support Division (MSD); (3) Local Health Systems Division (LHSD), and (4) Regulations, Licensing, and Enforcement Division (RLED).
A total of six batches were conducted with 20 to 35 participants for each group. The series of trainings was held on October 10-11 (batch 1), October 26-27 (batch 2), November 7-8 (batch 3), November 13-17 (batches 4 and 5), and November 23-24 (batch 6). Two more batches are set to be conducted in the first quarter of 2024.
The UPV training team is headed by Asst. Prof. Melanie R. Sartorio. The four faculty members of the Department of Management who co-facilitated the training were Ms. Liza Joy Galanza, Ms. Jenny J. Pelasol, Asst. Prof. Rhea Subong-Espina, and Ms. Jee Grace Suyo-Diala.
