The UP Board of Regents on its July 30, 2020 meeting approved the graduation of 290 graduates from midyear/third trimester 2018-2019 to second semester/trimester 2019-2020. The graduates earned their respective degrees in baccalaureate, post-baccalaureate, master, and doctoral levels. Of the graduating class, 28 were honor graduates with three magna cum laude latin honors and 25 cum laude latin honors.

Elizalde Miguel S. Flores, who graduated with a general weighted average of 1.329 and a BS Chemical Engineering from the School of Technology, was named 2020 class valedictorian. He graduated as magna cum laude.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UPV did not have the in-person graduation ceremony this year. Nevertheless, UPV still recognizes the accomplishments of all the students who have worked through adversity to earn their degrees.

While there was no Commencement Exercises in UP Visayas including UPV Tacloban College this 2020, the graduates of Academic Year 2019-2020 may opt to join the UPV Commencement Exercises in 2021, if the situation allows a face-to-face ceremony.

U.P. Visayas congratulates the graduating class of the Academic Year 2019-2020.
