The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Pahamapang 2024 is officially in the history books, and it concluded on April 27 with Ugyon coming out on top to repeat as overall champions.
Ugyon finished first in the overall standings of this year’s Pahampang, besting eight other academic organizations by garnering 1206.5 points. The team picked up right where they left off, winning the Larong Pinoy and most of their ball games during the opening weekend on March 16-17.
Ugyon managed to win a series of elimination games to earn berths in the finals, where they won championships in various sports games, including basketball, football, softball, and table tennis for the men’s category and badminton for the women’s category.
The team also bagged multiple second-place finishes in the women’s category, by advancing to the finals of the basketball, volleyball, football, and softball events.
Further, Ugyon won first place in the Latin American category of Sayaw and the essay writing contest.
This year, Elektrons finished second after garnering 1175.5 points, improving on their third-place finish last year. Fisheries, meanwhile, tallied 1094.25 points, good for third place.

The last day of the Pahampang 2024 ended with literary-musical contests dubbed “Paindisanay,” followed by the awarding of overall Pahampang winners. Pahampang was organized by the UPV University Student Council and Pahampang Tournament Board, together with sponsoring organizations.
