TO: All Concerned Students Through the Office of Student Affairs
In view of the end of the Second Semester AY 2019-2020 on April 30, 2020, all students stranded at UPV dormitories or private boarding houses, in Miagao or Iloilo City, are hereby advised to prepare to go home.
Everyone is encouraged to start planning and preparing his or her travel arrangements (purchasing or rebooking tickets, etc) even as the University is endeavoring to provide transportation and coordinating with government entities for those living within Panay Island. For students travelling to other parts of the country by boat or plane, assistance for local transportation from Miagao to the airport or wharf is being considered.
Students shall be responsible for coordinating with their parents or guardians as soon as possible on the specific requirements of their localities (provincial, city, municipality, barangay) regarding the re-entry of residents who wish to go home from other parts of the country. UPV shall provide a copy of an undertaking for students to accomplish. Should COVID 19 testing be mandatory for returning to their respective localities, UPV shall assist students in complying with such requirement three days prior to their definite departure date.
With the extension, until May 15, of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in various parts of the country including Iloilo, the tentative date of the first wave of departures shall be on May 16. However if conditions allow, leaving for home may start even before the aforementioned date.
