The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Seaweed Laboratory of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences of the is pleased to announce that Kyle Anthony Salinas, a BS Fisheries student, is the recipient of the first Olmix Best Seaweed Thesis Award.
In an endeavor to develop the essence of leadership and governance among student leaders in selected high schools in Iloilo, four first year students from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) conducted a program called The Leadership Launchpad (TLLP) in Guimbal National High School last April 27, 2024 and in Kirayan National High School, Miagao on May 18, 2024. The undertaking is a student project for the National Service Training Program - Civil Welfare Training Service.
Students of NSTP-LTS Section 1 of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) under the advisory of Ms. Analiza S. Galang-Linaugo completed their 40-hour service training program for the Grade 7 and 8 students of St. Louise de Marillac School of Miagao on April 27, 2024. The event was done through a culmination program after a series of enrichment programs on English and Mathematics from February to April this year.

Sashah Dioso, the University Research Associate of the Center for West Visayan Studies, was elected as the first President of Asosasyon ng mga Dalubhasa, may Hilig at Interes sa Kasaysayan or ADHIKA ng Pilipinas – Kanlurang Bisayas Balangay during the 9th ADHIKA Regional Conference on West Visayan History and Culture held on May 23-25, 2024 hosted by the College of Education and the Social Science Department of the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City.
