A coordination meeting among UPV and LGU officials, donors, Office of Deputy Speaker Legarda, UP Pandan-based Alumni, and other stakeholders was conducted in Pandan, Antique, on October 27, 2021. This was done to establish a strong collaborative partnership with the host municipality and discuss plans for the UPV Extension Campus in Antique. A Memorandum of Agreement was proposed to institutionalize the collaboration between these participating entities.
The UPV delegation was headed by Chancellor Clement Camposano, Vice Chancellors Rhodella Ibabao, John Lorenz Belanio, Harold Monteclaro. The Local Government Unit of Pandan was represented by Mayor Plaridel E. Sanchez VI and Vice Mayor Raymund Gumboc. At the same time, Pandan-based UPV alumni and students were led by Film Director Arden Condez. The Department of Education-Pandan was represented by District Supervisor Dr. Generosa Condez, while Ms. Marnie Payne represented the Office of Deputy Speaker Legarda.
A conference with (lot) donors, Mr. and Mrs. Romeo Ordinario and Mrs. Yolanda Batara, also took place. The attendees discussed the details of an additional donation of 300 sq.m. to the extension campus. A signing of the Deed of Donation will soon follow.
The Campus maintenance and Development Office engineers headed by Engr. Rolando Jamero, OVCPD architects and engineers, headed by Dr. Rhodella Ibabao, and the ASM Francisco Construction Development Corporation headed by Architect Alfredo SM Francisco held a pre-construction conference before the meetings. The meeting itself touched on the roles and responsibilities of the UPV implementing team and the contractor, construction methodology and quality control, construction and communication flow, safety and health/covid protocol, among others. The construction conference also determined that the construction will take 321 days which commenced on October 27, 2021, and will be finished by August 24, 2022.
