The UPV Healthy Lifestyle and Wellness Committee continues its advocacy to encourage UPV employees to pursue and practice a lifestyle of good health and wellness. The Committee readily agreed to organize two wellness events for the week-long 74th Anniversary of the UP Presence in Iloilo (March 22-26, 2021).
The Play Dance held on March 24, 2021, at the UPV Miagao campus, had over 30 participants who sweated it out under Zumba Instructor Catherine Blanca. A community breakfast, observing physical distancing followed.
“De-stressing through Yoga” was held on March 26, 2021, at the UPV Little Theater, Iloilo City campus, with Yogi Ravi.
Both events followed IATF protocols for COVID19.
“Now more than ever, we need to stay fit and healthy and have a strong immune system to fight various ailments but particularly against the COVID19 pandemic that continues to ravage our world,” says Mary Lyncen Fernandez, Chair of the Committee.
She credits her fellow committee members for the two well-organized events. They are Prof. Catherine B. Anecita and Rhoma Grace V. Pandan (PE Department), Dr. Riza Subade (Health Services Unit), Marites E. Geonanga (Office of Student Affairs), Maureen Kay Ongo (Cash Office), Rose F. Flame (Balay Madya-as), Nica Molo (PE Department), Lenilyn B. Gallos (CFOS Dean’s Office), and Herbert Nalagay (Office of the University Registrar.) (Source: UPV WellComm)
