The Office of the Vice President for Development UP System, organized a workshop on 16 February 2024 in Ikeda Hall (Balay Kalinaw) at the University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City. Vice President for Development Ferdinand Jesus A. Pecson led the workshop in discussing the template for the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which will be used to download GAA 2024-funded projects with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for outsourced procurement and contract implementation. The document shall lay out the responsibilities of UP and DPWH in the partnership.
The one-day event included a soft launch of UP's Digital Infrastructure Manual, which contains prescribed systems and processes for delivering needed infrastructure on time, quality, and budget.
UP Visayas Iloilo has 2024 GAA-Funded Projects to be implemented by DPWH. These are the new construction of the College of Law Building in the Iloilo City campus, construction of the Multipurpose Building in the Iloilo City campus, the Expansion and Operationalization of the UP Extension Campus in Pandan, Antique, and the Rehabilitation of UP Visayas High School Building in the Iloilo City Campus.
The participants of this workshop were the Vice Chancellors for Planning and Development, Vice Chancellors for Administration, the lead persons of the Campus Architect Office or its equivalent, and the engineers of the various campuses of the University of the Philippines.
The UP Visayas Team was composed of Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Rhodella A. Ibabao, Ar. Christian Rodeo Pancrudo (Lead Architect of the OVCPD-Campus Architect Team), Engr. Rio Lemana (Point Person of the OVCPD-Monitoring & Evaluation Team), Eng. Mario Morano (OVCA-CDMO Chief), and Engr. Edsel Montehermoso (OVCA-CDMO Officer).
