The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) conducted strategic planning for this year, incorporating the present pandemic's effects in setting its goals and programs.

Held via Zoom on February 23, 2021, the CFOS, through the various committees, developed and presented the plans anchored in the College's vision, mission, and core values.

CFOS dean, Prof. Encarnacion Emilia S. Yap, pointed out that many College plans last year were affected by the health crisis. "So we have to review the plans and incorporate the effects of the present pandemic in our plans," she stated.

The College looked into its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities in formulating its plans in matters related to instruction, research, public service, students and alumni concerns, internationalization, administrative, general welfare, disaster risk, and management, as well as in infrastructure, procurement, and other related concerns.

Committee chairs of the aforementioned concerns presented their respective short-term (1-2 years), medium-term (3-5 years), and long-term (more than 5 years) plans and programs.

Faculty members, REPS, administrative personnel, and representatives from the graduate and undergraduate students participated in the online discussion in setting the priorities and defining the strategies to achieve them amidst this pandemic.

The College, under the leadership of dean Yap, is holding an annual year-end evaluation and planning workshop to know its accomplishments, do quality assurance and ensure that its activities support its vision, mission, and core values.
