The Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) Program is a 4-year course offered by the Division of Biological Sciences at the College of Arts and Sciences, UP Visayas, Miagao Campus. Our program cultivates a strong foundation in health promotion, disease prevention, and community health, aligning with the ever-changing demands of the public health landscape.

The BSPH program has produced numerous graduates who have become medical and public health professionals. Many have successfully passed the Medical Technologists Licensure Examination and now work as medical technologists in clinical laboratories, both locally and internationally. Others have pursued careers as public health managers, associates, and rural health practitioners through programs like Doctors to the Barrios. Some alumni have chosen academic paths as teachers and researchers, while others have entered the industry as medical representatives or entrepreneurs. Many graduates have furthered their education through postgraduate studies at esteemed local and international universities.

V. ADMISSION CRITERIA OR REQUIREMENTS TO THE PROGRAM

“ No student shall be denied admission to the University by reason of age, sex, nationality, religious belief, or political affiliations. Every applicant for admission shall undergo a thorough health examination. No person shall be admitted to this University who is found by the University Health Service to be suffering from a dangerous, communicable, contagious, or infectious disease or who is physically unfit to take courses in any college or school of the University.” [Art 327, UP Code 1975]
