Exhibition of 13 Ilonggo women Artists at UPV’s Lantip Gallery

From Lin-ay to Hangaway: Voices of Ilonggo Women Artists, an exhibition of thirteen Ilonggo women artists, opens on 11 March at the UPV Main Building’s Lantip Changing Exhibition Gallery 1.

Featured in this landmark exhibition of women artists are paintings, drawings, sculpture, fabric art, videos, and installation by Margaux Blas, Shasha Cabais, Marge Chavez, Charmaine Española, Bea Gison, Madhu Liebscher, Katelyn Miñoso, Shiela Molato, Mia Reyes, Pam Reyes, Adhara Sebuado, Althea Villanueva, and Ma Rosalie Zerrudo who collaborated with women Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) artists.

Through the self-referencing, perceptive, reflexive, impassioned, or even risqué works of these thirteen artists, the voices of Ilonggo women that speak of their identities, knowledge, and strengths may be heard and appreciated.

The exhibition, which runs until 15 July, is in celebration of National Women’s Month and the 75th Anniversary of the UP Presence in Iloilo. The project is an initiative of the UPV Office of Initiatives in Culture and the Arts (OICA) and is supported by the UPV Gender and Development Program (GDP).

Exhibitions in the galleries at UPV are open to the public on Mondays to Fridays (except holidays) from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Covid-19 health and safety protocols apply.

Please call (33) 337-9159 or contact UPV OICA via Messenger if you wish to book your visit.
