Heads and Administrative Officers (AOs) of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) offices and units attended the Town Hall Meeting: Rollout of Process Improvement Initiatives at the CFOS AV Hall on May 7, organized by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration.
The first part of the activity focused on existing procurement and disbursement procedures and cash advances (type of application process, petty cash, and bond application).
The speakers included Ms. Emilia Lozada, Supply and Property Services Office Chief; Ms. Arlene Avanceña, Budget Office Chief; Ms. Maureen Kay Ongo, Cash Office Chief; and Ms. Eleanor Ravena, Accounting Office Chief.
This was then followed by a series of topics on the request of facilities; campus maintenance, repair, and maintenance; human resources concerns; and gender mainstreaming in UPV.
These were discussed, respectively, by Ms. Mary Lyncen Fernandez, Auxiliary Services Office Head; Engr. Mario Morano, Campus Development and Maintenance Office Chief; Ms. Ella Tidon, Human Resources Development Office Chief; and Ms. Dana Lee Durana, University Research Associate of the Gender and Development Program.
The attendees were able to ask questions on a variety of topics during the open forum moderated by Dr. Cherry Pilapil Añasco, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Administration (VCA).
In attendance, together with the heads and AOs of units and offices, were Chancellor Clement Camposano; Vice Chancellor for Administration Dr. Farisal Ungkakay-Bagsit; Dr. Harold Monteclaro, Dean of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences; Prof. Pepito Fernandez, Jr., Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; and Prof. Edelia Braga, UP High School in Iloilo Principal.
The Chancellor and VCA delivered messages emphasizing the importance of holding the event to improve the University’s processes among its offices and units.
