A current member of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Action Research Project team and former project manager were invited to train senior education program specialists (SEPS) from 21 Schools Division Offices (SDOs) under the Department of Education 6 on research poster making and what it should contain.
Ms. Gerthrode Charlotte Tan-Mabilog and Asst. Prof. Early Sol Gadong, both from UP High School in Iloilo, Division of Professional Education, College of Arts and Sciences spoke on the first day of the four-day seminar-workshop titled Capacity Building on Research: Dissemination of Research Outputs Through Poster. The activity started on 19 March 2024 at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.
They discussed the key elements that make a good research poster, the important contents that should be included, and the dos and don’ts of research poster making, among others. During the workshop part, the SEPS were asked to create an outline of information they will include in their respective posters, which will be presented at the end of the four-day activity.
The seminar-workshop is the initiative of the Policy, Planning, and Research Division (PPRD) of DepEd 6. PPRD and the ARP team of UPV have been working closely for the past five years to capacitate DepEd teachers on action research.
