As part of the extension service of the UP Visayas University Library, the group held a Community Pantry on 19 May 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the UPV Museum Lobby. The beneficiaries of this activity are janitorial personnel of Pacific Sun Manpower Solution Agency based at the UPV Miagao campus.
During this pandemic, many underprivileged people can hardly earn enough to sustain their family's basic needs. We are all aware that these people are among those who need our support. This prompted the library staff led by University Librarian Ms. Analiza G. Linaugo facilitated by Ms. Elsa Surmieda, College Librarian, to contribute financially or in kind. Through the efforts and cooperation of everyone, the said activity was materialized.
We thank the members of the UP Visayas community who were also tapped and have shared their blessings. To mention a few, UPV Chancellor Dr. Clement Camposano and Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Rhodella Ibabao extended their full support.
