The Office of Student Affairs conducted an orientation program for first-year students, transferees and their parents at the UPV Auditorium and the UPV Covered Court on July 27, July 30-31, and August 1, 2019. The psychological testing was simultaneously done with the activity.

In response to the Republic Act RA 11036 or Mental Health Act, members of the UPV community convened in a 2-day workshop for the creation of the UPV-wide Mental Health Program on July 8 and 9, 2019.

The University of the Philippines Visayas commemorated the declaration of Martial Law during the day of Remembrance on September 20, 2019.

Dr. Rex B. Sadaba, biology professor at UP Visayas was recently awarded the 2019 Distinguished Alumnus Award in Environmental Rehabilitation and Management during the 2019 UP Alumni Homecoming at UP Diliman, Quezon City on August 24, 2019.

This year’s homecoming saw hundreds of alumni returning home to their beloved University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) despite the rain and drizzle throughout the 3-day celebration. The campus was adorned with UP colors for the homecoming celebrated from August 23-25, 2019.
