A total of 143 student-athletes from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) are set to compete in this year’s Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA) Sports Festival and Conference hosted by the Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology (ISUFST) in Barotac Nuevo town, Iloilo, on Dec. 15-20, 2024.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Division of Humanities, in partnership with the Asian Shakespeare Association (ASA), held the Shoreline Shakespeares: The 6th Biennial Conference of the Asian Shakespeare Association on December 4-6, 2024, at the UP Visayas, Iloilo City Campus. The event brought together scholars, performers, and literary enthusiasts from across Asia and beyond to celebrate and explore the Bard’s legacy.

The Office of Continuing Education and Pahinungod (OCEP), University of the Philippines Visayas in cooperation with Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) – Iloilo Chapter, hosted a seminar-workshop titled “Dealing with Stress, Change and Technology: A Seminar – Workshop Series on Adapting to Digital Disruptions. The successful one-day training saw the participation of fifty four (54) Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) from the region. It was held on 27 November 2024 at Smallville 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.

A total of 46 health leaders from 17 local government units in Western Visayas completed the Municipal Leadership and Governance Program (MLGP) Cycle 4 – Module 3 Training in two batches. This is the 4th iteration of the Health Leadership and Governance Program in Western Visayas, which started in 2014. It is anchored on the Health Change Model of the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF). It is an eighteen-month, three module leadership initiative for municipal/city health leaders grounded in the principles of Bridging Leadership framework. The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), in partnership with the UPV Foundation, Inc. (UPVFI), is the academic partner of the Department of Health (DOH) Center for Health Development – Western Visayas in the region trained to implement the program.
