The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Fighting Maroons officially started their bid to compete for regional sports glory after participating in the opening parade and ceremonies of the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletics Association (RSCUAA) 2024 at the Tamasak Arena, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, on Dec. 15, 2024.

The College of Management, University of the Philippine Visayas, has once again affirmed its commitment to excellence as it produced a total of 40 new Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in the recently concluded December 2024 Licensure Examination for CPAs. CM's first-time takers achieved a 94.87% passing rate, while the overall performance of graduates was 90.91%.

“Thank you for your services to UPV,” said Vice-Chancellor for Administration, Dr. Farisal U. Bagsit during a simple ceremony for the giving of Christmas gift bags for 173 security guards (84) and janitorial personnel (89 including relievers, who are rendering services in both Miagao and Iloilo City campuses. The event was held on December 16, 2024, in the lobby of the Administration Building, Miagao campus.

The University of the Philippines Visayas marks its significant 5th year participation in the Regional and National SCUAA arena since its comeback in 2018. Dubbed as the venue for the elite intercollegiate sports competition among state colleges and universities in the country, the SCUAA is back again this AY 2024-2025.

The Social Science 5 (Understanding Gender) Sections 4 and 5 students for the 1st Semester of A.Y. 2024-2025 of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) conducted a seminar titled “Building Safer Digital Spaces for All: A Knowledge and Awareness Raising Seminar on Online Gender-Based Violence” at Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U)-Miagao Campus on November 27, 2024.
