UPV, Oceana Phils to hold forum on ‘ public opinion on fisheries, marine resources, and oceans'
The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) through the Institute of Fisheries Policy and Development Studies (IFPDS) of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), in collaboration with Oceana Philippines will hold a public forum on “Filipino Public Opinion on Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Oceans.” The forum will be held on November 27, 2018, 9:00 in the morning at the Training Room, Graduate and Continuing Education Building, UPV Iloilo City campus.
The activity will present the findings of the nationwide survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) on public opinion on fisheries issues. SWS is a private non-stock, non-profit social research institution.
Iloilo Provincial Governor Arthur Defensor Sr.; Director Remia Aparri of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Region V; Mayor Jett Rojas of Ajuy, Iloilo; Dr. Gay Defiesta, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, UPV; and Mr. Whelver Surnido, Chairperson of the CFOS Student Council representing the youth sector are invited as panel reactors.
