UPV-CFOS dominates 2018 October fisheries technologists board exam
A BS Fisheries graduate of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), UP Visayas led the passers of the October 2018 Fisheries Technologists Licensure Exam.
Liza Mina Lorraine D. Iwag aced the board exam with a rating of 86.75%. Iwag graduated cum laude in June 2018.
Ten (10) more successful examinees from UPV-CFOS made it to the top 10 highest places. They are Lhumen A.Tejano, fourth place (84.50); Edcel R. Sudaria and Valerie Lorraine M. Tan, who tied in the sixth place (84.00%); Ruperto P. Olivares, seventh place (83.75%); Mery Rose A. Baroquillo and Kyle Iris C. Touzo, ninth place (83.25%); and Jenelyn A. Bretaña, LC May C. Gasit, Denise V. Miranda, and John Ray N. Moleño who shared in the tenth place (83.00%).
UPV-CFOS registered an average of 97.30% passing rate in the said board exam conducted by the Philippine Regulations Commission (PRC), making UPV the only top performing school in the said board exam. Seventy-two (72) out of 74 examinees of the College passed the licensure exam.
The national passing rate, according to PRC, is recorded at 28.31% with 502 passers out of 1,773 takers.
PRC conducted the Fisheries Technologist licensure exam in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga on October 24 and 25, 2018.
The mass oathtaking for the new fisheries technologists is on November 27, 2018 at the Century Park Hotel, Manila.
