UPV CAS COP – BIDANI holds two-day MTAC Training in San Dionisio, Iloilo

For the continuous optimization of community health and nutrition advocacy, the UPV CAS COP-BIDANI organized a two-day Municipal Technical Action Committee (MTAC) Training in San Dionisio, Iloilo, along with the Local Government Unit of the municipality last June 22-23, 2026.

The Municipal Technical Action Committee (MTAC) Training highlights the vital role that the committee plays in addressing the issue of malnutrition and promoting nutritious and proper food portions among children. On the first day of the training, the participants were introduced to key nutrition promotion tools, including the Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos (NGF), the 10 Kumainments, and Pinggang Pinoy. These tools serve as recommended advice for constant practice of proper and positive nutrition among children.

Additionally, the training included discussions on fundamental nutrition, concepts of the prevalent nutritional challenges, and the national responses to dealing with the country’s malnutrition. The first day of the training emphasized the importance of the consequences of sustainable nutrition interventions for the country’s development and the community’s well-being.

On the second day of the MTAC Training, the participants carefully reviewed the previous discussion to foster deeper learning and planning for the next tasks. Then, proceeded to the implementation of the BIDANI Strategy at the local level. The session highlighted BIDANI’s Operational Framework and action planning with line agencies, particularly through the formation of the Municipal Technical Action Committee. Moreover, the participants explored and underscored the importance of Harmonization and Goal Setting in action planning.

Through these shared learning sessions, participants continue to strengthen their skills within their respective communities, furthering community health and nutrition initiatives.
