To formalize the partnership in the conduct of community-based research projects, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony was held between the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) and the Valencia Family Foundation, Inc. (VFFI) at the Office of Initiatives in Culture and the Arts Conference Room, Main Building, UPV, Iloilo City campus, on April 27, 2026.
UPV Chancellor Dr. Clement Camposano and VFFI President Mr. Edwin Valencia formally signed the agreement with Division of Professional Education Chair Dr. Jonny Pornel, and VFFI Corporate Secretary and Treasurer Ms. Gina Valencia, serving as witnesses.
This MOU is expected to further strengthen the research culture in UPV as it also supports the funding of research projects aimed at identifying critical educational needs of underprivileged elementary students.
Faculty members of the Division of Professional Education (ProfEd) and the officers of the VFFI attended the ceremony.
