The audience heard about the experiences, hardships, and lighter moments at work through the responses of some of the awardees, namely: Ms. Sarina Nacita, Asst. Prof. Darius Salaum, Ms. Ella Tidon, Asst. Prof. Giabelle Flecila Saldaña, Ms. Genna Serofia, and Mr. Gene Philip Levee Ynion.

For his part, Chancellor Clement Camposano told the awardees that “We can count years and list accomplishments, but we cannot easily measure the countless ordinary days when someone showed up, did the work, helped a colleague, served a student, solved a problem, or stayed a little longer because something needed to be done.”

“These acts may not appear in an award citation, but they are what keep an institution going,” Chancellor Camposano stressed.

The 2026 UPV Service Awards, organized by the Human Resources Development Office, is one of the main highlights of the 79th Anniversary of the UP Presence in Iloilo this September, with the theme, “1940s Foundation, 1979 Fulfilment, Lifelong Service.”

This year’s 79th UP Presence in Iloilo was spearheaded by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
