The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) crafted its work and financial plan (WFP) during the “Strategic and Operational Planning FY 2028” activity held at the GCEB Training Rooms, UPV Iloilo City campus, Aug. 14, 2026.
The activity sought to align the proposed activities, capital outlay projects, and operational requirements of units and offices with the University’s mandate, vision, mission, goals, and objectives. The formulation of the WFP is in compliance with the memorandum issued by the UP Office of the Vice President for Planning and Finance under VP Joselito Florendo.
The activity consisted of two workshops: the first was the revisiting and revision of the UPV Strategic Plans 2026-2029, and the second was the creation of the WFP. The WFP details the University’s planned Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs), the resources required, the implementation timeline, the responsible offices, and the expected results.
The participants were composed of executive officials, heads, and administrative officers of the various UPV offices and units that were grouped by delivery units (DUs).
These DUs included the Office of the Chancellor, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, College of Management, School of Technology, and Graduate School.
The resource persons were Dr. Cherry Añasco, Asst. to the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Training and Workshops Coordinator Chair; Asst. Prof. Mary Ann Sedero of the College of Management; and Ms. Grace Olla-Cañon of the Budget Office. They were assisted by UPV staff who served as DU workshop coordinators.
