UP alumni and Scintilla Juris fraternity brothers Chris Villanueva and PG Zoluaga works are now featured in Hanas Changing Gallery 2 of the UP Visayas Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage.

Titled Sojourn 6: The Spark in Us, the painting exhibition opened on 10 July 2026 as part of the celebration of the 2026 UPV Alumni Homecoming and the 50th founding anniversary of the UP Scintilla Juris Fraternity.

Villanueva is a veteran artist with more than 20 solo exhibitions to his name. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from UP Diliman. In 2005, he received the Grand Prize at the Philippine Art Awards, and was later recognized with the Jurors’ Choice Award in 2006 and 2010. Rooted in conceptual art and expressed primarily through abstraction, his paintings draw from a wide range of references, including politics, everyday objects, music, and literature.

Zoluaga is a musician and multimedia artist whose practice spans painting, printmaking, sculpture, and installation. Active since the 1970s, he studied Architecture at UP Diliman and the University of San Agustin. He received the Philippine Art Awards Jurors’ Choice Award in 1998 and represented the Philippines at the ASEAN Art Awards in 1999. Moving fluidly between figuration and abstraction, his work consistently returns to themes of environmental stewardship, cultural heritage, and socio-political realities, whether rendered through representational or non-representational forms.

Sojourn 6: The Spark in Us, curated by Martin Genodepa, is on view until 31 August 2026.
