Collaboration towards nutrition, health, and development: UPV CAS COP-BIDANI furthers nutrition-in-development initiatives

As UPV College of Arts and Sciences Community Outreach Program (COP) – BIDANI furthers prior advocacy for nutrition-in-development initiatives, the Municipal Technical Action Committee (MTAC) Training made its way to San Dionisio, Iloilo, for the signing of a partnership agreement with the municipality. Through this partnership, municipal leaders and stakeholders aim to strengthen their capacity and promote community-based strategies focused on nutrition, food security, and technical guidance. The MTAC Training is scheduled on 15-16 June 2026.

Additionally, preparations are ongoing for the upcoming Barangay Management Information System (BMIS) Training-of-Trainers scheduled on 17-19 June 2026, which continues to support local capacity training and development among BMIS LGU and barangay implementers, faculty, REPS, and staff volunteers from UPV CAS.

Coinciding with these preparations is the engagement of COP-BIDANI’s first student-interns from West Visayas State University. With the ongoing collaboration with the institution’s College of Communication, COP-BIDANI aims to provide a platform for development communication student-interns to immerse themselves in community-based training and gain firsthand experiences in development work at the grassroots level for their eight-week midyear internship program.
