Former Senate President Drilon launches memoir in UP Visayas

Former Senate President Franklin M. Drilon launched and held a book signing of his memoir, “Being Frank: A Memoir” at the Little Theater, University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), Iloilo City campus on April 14.

“The book is a chronicle of the life of a son of Iloilo who walked these same streets and eventually helped navigate the state through some of its most turbulent years,” former Sen. Drilon said.

This book launch served as a homecoming to the academic institution where he completed his high school education. He also reminisced about his time at UPV.

Former Sen. Drilon entertained questions from guest panelists Mr. Joshua Cedric Carmen, and Mr. Rein Vincent Dayot, both students from the UP College of Law Extension Program at UPV. The session was moderated by Associate Dean and Extension Program Director of the UP College of Law, Atty. Andre C. Palacios.

Some of the questions focused on former Sen. Drilon’s book and his advice to aspiring lawyers.

Former Sen. Drilon is an alumnus of the UP Iloilo College Lower Division, now known as UP High School in Iloilo, UP Diliman for his undergraduate studies, and UP College of Law, where he earned his Bachelor of Laws degree. The UP Alumni Association Iloilo Chapter awarded former Sen. Drilon the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.
