Faculty, Staff, and Alumni Donate Furnishings to the UPV University Library

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) University Library received donations of heavy-duty curtain rods from Asst. Prof. Moniq M. Muyargas, PhD, College of Arts and Sciences; Ms. Jenelie A. Acosa, Administrative Officer, OVCPD-SARP; and foam pads from Mr. Zyrel Rojo and Mrs. Jhoanna Gorriceta-Rojo, UP alumni and regular donors of the library.

The curtain rods, valued at Php7,000.00, provide stable support for curtains, which help control lighting in reading areas, protect delicate books from UV damage, and enhance the area’s aesthetics and functionality.

Meanwhile, the foam pads, valued at Php35,000.00, were used to cushion the concrete stairs in the reading area. Students often used these cushioned stairs to read and relax, creating a comfortable learning environment.

“The University Library is grateful for the support and generosity of the faculty, staff, and alumni. These will go a long way in enhancing the library services and creating a more functional and inviting learning space for the students,” said Ms. Analiza S. Galang-Linaugo, UPV University Librarian.

Through its services, support from the administration, and the donations it has received, the library serves as a springboard of support for the academic and research pursuits of its clientele.
