UP Visayas was identified by the Philippine Climate Change Commission (PCC) as a leading academic institution in Iloilo that will collaborate with the Commission to increase the capacities of key local actors in the cities and municipalities within the Jalaur River Basin in Iloilo to manage disaster risks and adapt to the overall impacts of climate change towards resilient and sustainable development.

The UP Visayas co-sponsors with ABS-CBN the Iloilo –wide election candidate’s forum dubbed as ‘Sambuwa 2013’ through the program Derecho, which is being hosted by ABS-CBN Anchor, Noni Basco. The forum is held every Wednesday starting April 17, 2013 until April 24, 2013 at the UPV Auditorium, Iloilo City campus.
