The Philippine Fisheries Institutions Network, Inc. (PhilFIN) is a non-stock, non-profit organization composed of institutions engaged in fisheries education and research. The founding members are the eight (8) recipient- institutions of the 6th World Bank Loan Education Project which saw the formation of an association as a means of sustaining the collaboration started with the World Bank Project.
The principal office of the association is located at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, Miagao, Iloilo.
- To assist the government in the rational management and conservation as well as utilization of fisheries and aquatic resources;
- To establish and maintain effective rapport and linkages with the public and private agencies so as to attain regional and national development goals;
- To promote excellence and provide leadership in fisheries education and training, research , extension and production;
- To help formulate and/or recommend policies in fisheries education and training, research and extension, and production programs;
- To coordinate collaborative programs, projects and activities of member-institutions.
