RESEARCH GOALS

The U.P. Visayas has the following goals in its research program:

To generate new knowledge and develop technologies for the sustainable production, management, and utilization of fisheries, agriculture and other available resources;
To formulate and develop frameworks or models of technologies appropriate for local area development;
To adopt and apply techniques and methods, particularly from the fields of information communication technology and biotechnology, for sustainable resource management;
To retrieve, preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the region and stimulate creative work; and
To address socio-economic and political issues of the region and country.
