UPV VISAYAS MAINTAINS PHILFIN LEADERSHIP

UP Visayas was again reelected into the Presidency of the Philippine Fisheries Institution Network (PhilFIN) following the election of the new Members of the Board at the University Hotel, UP Diliman, Quezon City on February 18, 2010. The election was held after the Forum and General Assembly which was also held at the same venue.

The 21 member institutions of PhilFIN chose from among themselves six member institutions to vote for that will comprise the six-member Board. The institutions that get the six topmost votes become Members of the Board. The Board then elects from among themselves, the President and Vice President. The three others functions as Board Members. Meanwhile, the Treasurer and the Executive Director are appointed by the PhilFIN President.
