The College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV-CAS) officially kicked off the CAS Week 2024 celebration with an opening ceremony held at the CAS Park on Feb. 26.
The University of the Philippines Visayas College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (UPV-CFOS), through the Institute of Aquaculture, hosted the World Expert Lecture Series (WELS) that featured Prof. Glenn Satuito, PhD from the Graduate School of Fisheries and Environmental Sciences, Nagasaki University, Japan on February 19-20, 2024.
Given the growing interest in the field of Japan-Philippine studies, the Division of Social Sciences (DSS), in collaboration with the Center for West Visayan Studies and the Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman conducted a Japanese Studies Research Writing Workshop last February 21, 2024, at the GCEB Training Rooms, UPV Iloilo City campus.
The Division of Social Sciences and the Center for West Visayan Studies held a book talk with Ms. Marie Silva Vallejo for her work Dauntless: The 1st & 2nd Filipino Infantry Regiments, United States Army at the UPV Performing Arts Hall last February 21, 2024. The event was attended by students, faculty, and researchers on World War II history in Iloilo and Panay.
