UP signs MOU with UA&P
The University of the Philippines Visayas represented by Chancellor Rommel Espinosa signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Asia and the Pacific represented by its President, Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog on March 13, 2107 at the Office of the Chancellor, UP Visayas, Iloilo City campus.
The purpose of the MOU is to develop academic and educational cooperation and promote mutual understanding between the two universities. Both universities agree to undertake the following collaborative activities in academic areas of mutual interest based on equality and reciprocity: Exchange of faculty, researchers and technical staff; Exchange of students for academic work and field training; Collaborative research projects; Exchange of information, publications and scientific materials; and other collaborative activities that are deemed mutually appropriate.
The implementation of specific activities based on this MOU will be discussed separately and arranged between the faculty and academic units that will carry out the specific projects in the future.
This MOU takes effect on March 13, 2017 and shall remain in force for a period of five (5) years. The agreement may be renewed by mutual written consent of both institutions.
Signing as witness to the MOU is UA&P Executive Director and Vice Chairman for Research and Extension Operations Committee, Colin Hubo. Also present during the MOU signing is Dr. Rodel Subade of the Division of Social Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, UP Visayas.
On a pleasant note, Padojinog and Hubo are both alumni of UP Visayas having graduated their undergraduate degrees in this University.
